PERSONAL ROAD & SOURCE OF INSPIRATION

I was living and painting for 1 year in South of France. During this time, my work was exhibited in several towns of France, and has been appreciated for the power of its colour....Even though, I prefer to pursue my artistic life in my country, where I can contribute more to « Habesha studio » road, and where exchanges are more appreciable.

Through the energy spreading from Yosef paintings, their amazing colours, composition and style, one can wonder who is the artist and what is he looking for in his paintings ?

The roots of my style came from observation of Addis Ababa mountains, where several colourful clothes were drying on the grass. I derived this vision and adapted it to my paintings. My inspiration is coming from what I see, leave, and mainly feel daily given my sensitivity, or during my travels in Egypt, Zanzibar, Spain and France. I believe that I have to bring happiness through my paintings, and not sadness..

The fruit of my art, are some contemporary paintings, oil on canvas, originally figurative and becoming more abstract day after day. My paintings are rich in alive colours, often in greens and yellows, with vertical lines defining roughly women, persons, boats, or what the observator's imagination inspires to himself.
